Government Grants for EV Charger Installation

The OZEV Grant Scheme allows you to get a £350 grant to cover the installation of a home or Workplace charging point.

Under the UK government’s zero-emission targets, 22 per cent of new car sales in 2024  must be zero-emission, rising each year to 37 per cent in 2027 and 52 per cent in 2028. All these cars will need charging, either in the home, workplace, the gym, hospitals, schools, churches, basically everywhere. We want to help you and your business get involved.

The Government have set up a dedicated department, known as OZEV, which is the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles. They forecast and monitor everything to do with low emission vehicles, including electric vehicles. How does this affect you? To encourage use of electric vehicles, they are offering grants of up to £350 per household and up to £350 per charger in the workplace. As an OZEV approved installer, we can claim this grant on the customers behalf.

Home OZEV Installation (EVHS)

The Homecharge scheme is now only available for people living in flats or rented accommodation. If you run a business from your home address you may also qualify under the workplace scheme.  You will need off-street parking, to install an OZEV approved charging point and use an OZEV registered installer. We’ll work with you to take the hassle out of the application process and do what we can to make sure you have the highest chance of approval as possible.

Domestic Installations

Business OZEV Installation (WCS)

The commercial OZEV grant (also known as a workplace charge scheme), is £350 per charger installed at workplaces where they will be used for staff or fleet vehicles.

Businesses and landlords can also benefit from the Infrastructure grant which when there are plans to install 5 or more charge points, now or in the future, it contributes £500 per parking bay towards the cabling and distribution equipment to facilitate this on top of the £350 WCS grant.
